Role Description The Truck Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport donated goods and materials between stores, donation centers, and warehouses. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, driving assigned routes, and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. The role involves loading and unloading goods, handling pallets or containers, and working closely with warehouse and store teams to maintain accurate documentation and inventory records. The Truck Driver follows all DOT regulations and company safety policies, maintains a clean and organized vehicle, and provides professional, courteous service when interacting with donors, colleagues, and community partners. This position also supports Goodwill’s mission by helping ensure donated items are moved efficiently into the resale and recycling stream.

Qualifications

  • Commercial driving expertise, including CDL Class A and Truck Driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT Regulations and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to perform loading, unloading, and basic material handling tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet all medical and licensing requirements for commercial drivers.
  • Experience with route planning, trip logs, and basic vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work a full-time, on-site schedule in Houston, TX.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills when interacting with donors, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in commercial or nonprofit logistics is a plus.
