SUMMARY
Warehouse Operations Coordinator: To coordinate efficient, safe and compliant transport, storage and logistics operations in compliance with AOI Operating Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compile operational data to support annual budgeting, including resource, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
- Develop and implement planned maintenance schedules for trucks, tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
- Coordinate and optimize transport and forklift operations to support departmental productivity.
- Manage the collection and storage of tobacco from Auction and Contract Floors, ensuring alignment with company programs and
- customer requirements.
- Monitor green tobacco stocks (blend components) in storage and facilitate timely delivery to the factory for processing.
- Ensure all dispatched tobacco is properly secured using required safety equipment (tarpaulins, cargo belts, nets).
- Oversee timely deliveries to the factory to prevent operational disruptions.
- Conduct staff performance reviews, identify skills gaps and implement training interventions.
- Promote employee engagement, teamwork, and productivity through effective supervision and resource utilization.
- Lead quarterly and annual performance discussions and target-setting processes.
- Enforce adherence to Health & Safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and operational safety standards.
- Ensure employees consistently use protective clothing and safety equipment.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations, identify hazards, and recommend preventative measures.
- Maintain clean, safe, and hazard-free work areas through strong housekeeping and machine-guarding practices.
- Perform and record daily safety checks, inspections, and safety-related activities.
- Conduct weekly safety talks and promote a strong safety culture across teams.
- Notify management of any actual or potential safety risks.
- Ensure compliance with infestation control procedures and coordinate fumigation services when required.
- Liaise with Security and Engineering departments to ensure storage facilities are protected from theft, flooding, heat, and other risks.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A/O Levels
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Tobacco warehousing and control (4 to 6 years)
- Written and verbal communication
- Ability to analyses and solve problems
- Computer literacy (ICDL/ SAP)
- Team leadership, interpersonal skills and result orientated
SKILLS AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Expertise in receiving, storage, stock control, and dispatch, including tobacco handling and blend management.
- Ability to plan and optimize the use of trucks, trailers, and forklifts to ensure efficient operations.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, PPE enforcement, incident investigation, and hazard management.
- Skilled in analyzing operational data and using systems such as SAP and Microsoft Excel for reporting and planning.
- Proven ability to supervise teams, manage performance, and resolve operational challenges effectively.
