Role Description The Senior Shipping Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Selangor, Malaysia. This role is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations, including scheduling and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and customer requirements. The Senior Shipping Coordinator will work closely with internal teams, carriers, and customers to resolve shipment issues, monitor delivery status, and maintain accurate records in logistics systems. The role includes analyzing shipping performance, identifying process improvements, and supporting the implementation of best practices across the shipping function. This position may also involve coaching junior coordinators and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics team.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in shipping coordination, logistics, or freight forwarding, with the ability to manage complex, high-volume shipment schedules and documentation.
- Solid knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation requirements, and basic customs or regulatory compliance, especially within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal stakeholders, vendors, and carriers, including the ability to handle escalations and resolve issues promptly.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead coordination role, including mentoring or guiding junior team members, is highly beneficial.
- Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Ability to work on-site in Selangor, Malaysia, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
