About the Role
We are looking for a Transportation Operations Coordinator to oversee trucking and inland transportation operations in the Netherlands. This role focuses on dispatching, route planning, and in-transit monitoring to ensure cargo is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Candidates should have strong knowledge of local transportation operations, carrier management, and logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange transportation plans based on customs release status and warehouse booking schedules.
- Coordinate container trucking and van delivery operations for cargo pickup and distribution.
- Dispatch transportation orders to partner carriers and drivers while tracking vehicle status and shipment progress in real time.
- Monitor transportation timelines to ensure timely arrivals at ports, terminals, and warehouses.
- Handle transportation exceptions such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, warehouse congestion, booking changes, cargo discrepancies, and damage claims.
- Coordinate solutions quickly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Review transportation costs, maintain transportation records, and verify carrier invoices for accuracy and cost control.
- Track and collect Proof of Delivery (POD) documents and update delivery status in internal systems.
- Organize and archive transportation-related documentation.
Requirements
- Associate degree or above; majors in Logistics Management, Transportation, or related fields preferred.
- Experience in transportation dispatching or logistics operations.
- Familiarity with cargo pickup procedures at ports, terminals, bonded warehouses, and warehouse receiving requirements.
- Strong understanding of trucking types, transportation pricing, and route planning within the Netherlands.
- Excellent carrier coordination and negotiation skills with strong cost-control awareness.
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and emergency response capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation tracking systems; TMS system experience is preferred.
- English proficiency required for daily work communication.
