Full Job Description
Delivering freshly mixed concrete in a ready mix truck , “Mixer”, transporting materials and aggregate in either a tractor-trailer or tandem dump truck. Good customer skills are needed. Must be able to keep trucks clean. Good safe work practices are essential. An understanding of construction work in general is a plus. Must be able to drive or learn to driver a manual transmission. Since the ready mix business uses mixers to deliver our product, and most people have not had a chance to operate one, experience is mainly taught on the job. Experienced mixer drivers though are encouraged to apply as well as drivers who have worked with trucks with multiple controls. Prior education is not a key factor in this job but having the ability learn quickly and be able to retain and repeat what they learn is important. Other talents such as welding, engine mechanical abilities and maintenance experience also can play a key roll in placement.
