Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Truck Driver role based in Copthorne. The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely operating trucks to transport parcels and freight across designated routes within the UK. Daily tasks include vehicle inspections, loading and unloading goods, ensuring secure and compliant freight handling, and completing delivery documentation. The role involves coordinating with dispatch, adhering to delivery schedules, following all road safety and regulatory requirements, and providing professional customer service during collections and deliveries. Drivers may handle a variety of loads, including time-sensitive, or specialised freight, as operational needs require.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills, including experience with Truck operation and safe handling of loads.
- Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A (or equivalent appropriate UK/European licence) and a clean driving record.
- Candidates should possess skills in unloading and secure loading practices using a Moffet Mounty or be willing to undertake training
- Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT Regulations or equivalent UK transport and road safety regulations.
- Ability to follow route plans, use electronic logs or tracking systems, and complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach during collections and deliveries.
- Physical ability to handle manual handling tasks, including lifting, moving, and securing goods safely.
- Previous experience in courier, logistics, or freight transport is beneficial; familiarity with specialised Vehicles
