We are seeking an experienced and analytical Transportation Control Tower Analyst – Ocean to support and optimize global ocean freight operations across international import and export flows. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring end-to-end shipment visibility, proactive exception management, and seamless coordination across carriers, ports, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

Manage Global Ocean Freight Operations:

  • Monitor international ocean shipments (FCL & LCL) from origin to final inland delivery.
  • Track vessel schedules, port congestion, rollovers, ETA changes, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate drayage, intermodal movements, and inland transportation activities.
  • Resolve shipment disruptions, including customs holds, missed sailings, demurrage, and detention.

Coordinate Across Carriers & Logistics Partners:

  • Act as the primary liaison between ocean carriers, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, port terminals, and drayage providers.
  • Monitor carrier performance metrics, including transit reliability and on-time delivery.
  • Support carrier allocation and service lane optimization strategies.

Drive Visibility Through Analytics:

  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends, risks, and operational improvements.
  • Build dashboards and KPI reporting using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights to improve performance and efficiency.

Lead Exception Management & Resolution:

  • Manage shipment issues through a control tower case management framework.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate impacts, escalations, and recovery plans to stakeholders.

Support Cost Optimization & Compliance:

  • Identify opportunities to reduce freight and accessorial costs.
  • Review and dispute demurrage and detention charges.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping and customs regulations.
  • Validate Bills of Lading and shipping documentation accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong ocean freight and international transportation experience.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with TMS platforms, control tower systems, and BI tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving global supply chain environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global transportation control tower experience.
  • Knowledge of demurrage and detention management.
  • APICS or CSCMP certification.
  • Advanced Power BI or Tableau expertise.
