About The Role

We are seeking a Trading Assistant to join our Refined Base Metals trading desk in Singapore. While the desk is responsible for the APAC market, it works closely with our global trading teams to manage inter-regional physical metal flows and trading opportunities across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The successful candidate will support the administrative and commercial activities of the desk, including trade execution, cross-functional coordination, market analysis, and portfolio management across the physical trading lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse trading positions, exposures and P&L.Develop and maintain pricing models, dashboards and market data.Support inter-regional trading activities and collaborate with trading teams across Asia, Europe and the Americas.Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, Finance, Credit, Legal and Risk to ensure efficient trade execution.Prepare market updates and management reports.Support traders in originating, evaluating and executing physical trading opportunities.Prepare pricing analyses, commercial proposals and profitability assessments.Monitor market fundamentals, regional premiums, freight and arbitrage opportunities.Support business development initiatives and ad hoc commercial projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related discipline.2-4 years' relevant experience in physical commodity trading, preferably as a Trading Analyst, Commercial Analyst, or Senior Trade Operations professional with strong commercial exposure.Experience in refined base metals (particularly aluminium and/or copper) is highly preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel proficiency.Commercial mindset with excellent attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment and manage multiple priorities.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Mandarin proficiency is preferred to support communication with Chinese-speaking counterparties and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting a physical metals trading desk.Knowledge of LME pricing, regional premiums, Incoterms and international supply chains.Experience with CTRM/ERP systems (e.g. Endur, Aspect, Allegro, SAP) and Power BI or Python is an advantage.Experience working with AI tools and LLM’s.
