Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping Import Officer to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily import shipping operations, managing freight service providers, and ensuring seamless inbound material movements and accurate billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inbound Management:
  • Coordinate and monitor end-to-end inbound import shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee customs clearance documentation, import permits, and compliance with local customs regulations.
  • Resolve day-to-day shipping exceptions, delays, or clearance issues with relevant parties.
  • Logistics Service Provider (LSP) Management:
  • Manage daily interactions and performance of freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking vendors.
  • Ensure service providers adhere to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Freight Billing Management:
  • Verify, audit, and process import freight invoices and shipping charges accurately.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in shipping billing, rates, and extra charges prior to payment approval.
  • General Duties:
  • Maintain precise import records, shipping logs, and audit trails.
  • Support cross-functional teams (e.g., Procurement, Warehouse, Finance) on import-related matters and standard operational tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
  • Diploma in Logistics, Shipping, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline with minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on shipping experience or; Equivalent combination of education and 3–5 years of practical shipping/import experience.

  • Specialized Experience:
  • Priority preference given to candidates with prior shipping or logistics experience in the Semiconductor or High-Tech Electronics industry.

  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Good understanding of import procedures, customs clearance processes, and shipping documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Import Licenses).
  • Familiarity with freight billing verification and cost reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and experienced with ERP/logistics systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
