We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of various driving equipment and the ability to navigate local roads while ensuring timely deliveries. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction through reliable service.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of vehicles including vans and box trucks to transport freight.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials, office supplies, and confidential records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all trips.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally.
Skills
- Locally owned and operated company is seeking qualified individuals to assist with delivery activity Monday through Friday.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Company is fast paced and requires individuals who are hardworking, customer oriented, and operate safely.
- Ability to drive various types of vehicles including vans and box trucks.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills and be able to lift, carry, and safely transport freight.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential.
