Job Overview
Roadside Assistance Technician (Full time, Hourly) – part of the Emergency Roadside Assistance team. The role involves providing prompt and friendly service to AAA members and ensuring their safe return to the road.
Responsibilities
- Operate full‑size or mini service trucks, tow trucks, and related equipment to assist members, employees, and other motorists.
- Use GPS and maps to locate member breakdowns.
- Perform vehicle services such as providing fuel, testing and replacing batteries, jump‑starting, lockout service, and changing/inflating flat tires.
- Arrange vehicle towing when the vehicle cannot be started or is unsafe to drive.
- Deliver excellent customer service to achieve 100% member satisfaction.
- Offer additional value through On‑The‑Go Tow, battery tests, or sales.
- Support special events such as parades, travel shows, car‑care, and public‑relations events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate starting at $21.50 (Florida) and may exceed the starting rate based on experience.
- Overtime at 1½× hourly rate.
- Shift premiums: 5% for 5‑11pm, 10% for 11pm‑5am.
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus (split at 90 and 180days of employment) – to qualify, applicants must be new to ACG.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- 21years of age or older.
- Experience with electronic devices (tablets) for call updates, policy reviews, safety documentation, and other duties.
- Strong customer‑service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with members.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75pounds.
- Successful completion of drug screening, motor‑vehicle‑record check, criminal‑background check, DOT health screening, and ongoing checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience servicing vehicles – fuel, battery, jump‑start, lockout, flat‑tire change/inflation.
- Prior tow‑truck driver or roadside service experience.
- Ability to safely operate wheel lifts, flatbeds, dollys, and related towing equipment or hold commercial driving experience.
Work Environment
The position requires primarily outdoor roadside service, exposing the employee to road hazards and temperature extremes. Office time is less than 5% and the rest is on‑the‑road performing the duties described.
