Overview
Columbia Trucking is hiring an experienced CDL-A driver based in the Portland metro area to operate regional routes across OR, WA, ID, UT, and MT.
This position offers a salaried pay structure with weekly pay, home weekly with resets typically over the weekend, and the opportunity to be one of the first drivers at a new and growing regional carrier. While routes will initially include some variability and inconsistency as operations are established. The position is expected to transition into a consistent, dedicated schedule serving the region along I-84.
The ideal candidate is a reliable, safety-focused, self starter, who is ambitious and driven about working hard and building together as a team.
Position Details
- Headquartered in Troutdale, OR
- Regional routes across OR, WA, ID, UT, and MT.
- Approximately 2,200–2,800 miles per week
- Home Weekly (Reset over Weekend)
- Assigned truck (Current Driver(s) Operate 2022 Peterbilt 579)
- Schedule consistency will increase as operations scale
Compensation
- Guaranteed salary of $90,000-100,000 per year
- W-2 employee position with weekly pay and access to company-sponsored benefits, Medical/Dental/Vision
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate a Class 8 tractor-trailer on Regional Routes
- Complete pickups and deliveries on time
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (Motive)
- Maintain accurate HOS logs and required documentation (Motive)
- Communicate clearly regarding load status, schedule, and any issues
- Maintain cleanliness and proper care of assigned equipment
- Operate in compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license
- T (Doubles/Triples) Endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of Class A tractor-trailer driving experience
- Heavy Haul Experience or Experience w/ 53′ FTL a plus
- Clean driving record and strong safety history
- Ability to operate independently and responsibly
- Strong professionalism and communication
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
About Columbia Trucking
Columbia Trucking is a new, Portland-based regional carrier focused on providing reliable, safe and dedicated freight service throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are launching initial operations using diesel trucks, and will eventually deploy battery electric equipment as operations scale.
To be among one of the first drivers offers the opportunity to play a foundational part in building the operation, with potential to grow into additional responsibilities as the company expands.
Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
