Transportation Control Tower Analyst – Ocean
📍 Franklin, TN (On-site training, then hybrid)
📅 12-Month Contract | 💲$40–43/hr
Seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Analyst to manage end-to-end international ocean shipments (FCL/LCL), monitor vessel schedules, resolve shipment exceptions, and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, ports, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Track ocean shipments, ETAs, port delays, rollovers, and inland delivery
- Manage exceptions including customs holds, demurrage, detention, and missed sailings
- Coordinate with carriers, NVOCCs, drayage providers, and Uber Freight LLP
- Analyze transportation data and create KPI dashboards (Power BI/Tableau)
- Support cost optimization, carrier performance reviews, and compliance documentation
- Drive process improvements and control tower visibility initiatives
Requirements
- Strong ocean freight experience required
- Experience with TMS/control tower platforms and BI tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Global control tower experience
- Knowledge of demurrage/detention management
- APICS/CSCMP certification
- Advanced Power BI or Tableau skills
