Our client is a growing global logistics organization providing international transportation, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain solutions. As part of their expansion, they are seeking experienced export ocean freight sales professionals capable of generating profitable business and building long-term client relationships.
Position Overview:
The Export Ocean Freight Sales Executive will drive new business growth across international freight markets, focusing on export ocean freight. This role manages the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and discovery through pricing, negotiation, and operational handoff, while leveraging an existing book of business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a revenue-generating pipeline within the assigned territory
- Develop new business opportunities across export ocean freight markets
- Sell international transportation solutions including export ocean freight, air freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain solutions
- Leverage an active book of business to drive profitable revenue growth
- Conduct discovery calls and create customized logistics solutions
- Prepare pricing strategies, proposals, and transportation solutions
- Negotiate agreements and close profitable business opportunities
- Partner with Operations and Account Management teams to ensure successful service execution and client satisfaction
- Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and revenue tracking
Requirements:
- 3–7+ years of freight forwarding or international logistics sales experience
- Proven export ocean freight sales experience
- Active portable book of business required
- Reefer cargo experience preferred; dry cargo experience considered
- Strong understanding of international forwarding operations and ocean freight processes
- Hunter mentality with consultative sales and prospecting skills
- Strong CRM discipline, forecasting, and pipeline management experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
