Role Description The Multimodal Account Coordinator is a full-time role responsible for managing customer accounts and coordinating shipments across sea, air, and road transport. Working in a hybrid model based in Birmingham, the coordinator will split time between the office and working from home, ensuring smooth communication with clients, carriers, and internal teams. Daily responsibilities include monitoring bookings and shipments, updating customers on status and exceptions, preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, and resolving service issues in a timely manner. The role also involves analyzing shipment data, supporting rate and quotation processes, and identifying opportunities to improve service performance and account satisfaction. The coordinator will collaborate closely with sales, operations, and finance to ensure that customer requirements are met and that service standards, compliance, and cost controls are maintained.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to build relationships, manage expectations, and provide responsive support.
- Candidates should possess solid Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication for customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to review shipment data, identify issues or trends, and support continuous improvement in account performance.
- Candidates should possess Account Management experience, with the ability to coordinate multiple shipments, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Minimum 2 years experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination is required.
- Proficiency with MS Office and logistics or transport management systems is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment are required.
- Formal education in logistics, business, or a related field is preferred but equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
