The Role

Troubleshooting the transport network and works complex assignments within the 24×7 Lumen Transport Network Operations Center.

Performs varied tasks of moderate to high level complexity requiring the application of standard procedures and criteria.

Responsible for troubleshooting problems of network equipment and circuits. This includes the fiber, transport equipment and all critical infrastructures.

Demonstrates a degree of experience with maintenance & testing, test equipment, telecommunication equipment, outside plant network, including offnet carriers and fiber providers.

Experience with Optical Transport is a must for this role.

Experience with Transport, MOP, Network Operations Centers, SONET, and DWDM all a plus.

This role is a Hybrid position. You will be asked/required to come into the office for trainings, meetings, and other significant functions. Team members typically come in at least one day per week, however that is at the discretion of the manager and the business unit.

Candidates should live in Denver CO, Atlanta GA, Tempe, AZ, Tulsa, OK, or Monroe LA.

The Main Responsibilities

Monitors and maintains the Lumen Transport Network. Works the repair of network equipment and facilities with field operations, next level support, other Lumen teams, and off-net providers.

Knows equipment-specific maintenance procedures and can assist field ops in card swaps and equipment restoral.

Takes the lead in driving equipment and facility repair.

Knows transport network topology and can make final go/no-go decisions on maintenance activities based on current network status.

Analyzes network events and identifies critical issues, setting appropriate priorities to maintain network reliability.

Able to follow MOPs, anticipate problems, and take corrective action proactively.

Has a thorough understanding of transport networks and Lumen repair procedures.

Able to work with minimal supervision in a 24×7 Network Operations Center.

Provides troubleshooting guidance and assistance to team members.

Helps with training of newer team members.

Experience with Ciena, Infinera, Fuji, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, Coriant, Huawei – to name a few.

Has the ability to lead a team.

Demonstrates high personal work standards.

At least eight years of NOC or field experience.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated basesalary rangefor this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
