Title: Inventory Planning and Procurement Specialist

Company: LaTeam Partners

Location: Latin America

Inventory Planning & Procurement Specialist

Job Type: Contractor with USD payment – Full-time – Remote

About the Role

This is not a traditional Purchasing role. We’re looking for someone who wants to transform how purchasing decisions are made through data, systems, analytics, and AI. You’ll help redesign purchasing and inventory planning processes across hundreds of suppliers, thousands of SKUs, and multiple warehouse locations. Rather than simply executing purchase orders, you’ll build the methodologies, dashboards, and decision models that drive smarter purchasing decisions.

If you’re naturally curious, love solving operational problems, and enjoy questioning how systems work, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and continuously improve purchasing and inventory planning processes.
  • Develop replenishment methodologies based on demand, lead times, supplier constraints, and inventory policies.
  • Optimize purchasing decisions using data rather than intuition.
  • Improve ERP purchasing parameters and master data.
  • Build dashboards and analytical tools to support inventory and purchasing decisions.
  • Optimize purchase orders considering supplier minimums, freight thresholds, and working capital.
  • Improve inventory allocation across multiple warehouse locations.
  • Help integrate AI into purchasing workflows and continuously identify automation opportunities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement Analytics, Operations, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Comfortable analyzing large datasets and making data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Power Query, Tableau, or similar analytical tools is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of inventory planning, replenishment, forecasting, and purchasing optimization.
  • Curiosity to leverage AI and automation to improve operational processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and continuous improvement mindset.

Bonus Points

  • Multi-site inventory or distribution experience.
  • Manufacturing, industrial distribution, MRO, or SKU-intensive environments.
  • ERP implementation or optimization experience.
  • Experience building dashboards or decision-support tools.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to help build the future purchasing organization—not simply operate the current one. You’ll have the chance to redesign processes, improve decision-making, leverage AI, and create scalable systems that directly impact business performance.
