Berberian Nut Company is hiring a temporary International Shipping Coordinator to work during a medical leave. The position offers full-time hours and will be expected to work for 6 months, with potential for a longer assignment.
Summary:
The International Shipping Coordinator manages domestic and international shipments from start to finish. This role ensures deliveries are on time, paperwork is accurate, and all shipments follow trade and regulatory rules.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all domestic and international shipments, including ocean, trucking, and multi-modal transport, to ensure on-time delivery.
- Work with carriers, freight forwarders, ports, and vendors to schedule shipments and secure competitive rates.
- Prepare, review, and manage all shipping documentation, including export filings, customs paperwork, labeling, and billing documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure products are prepared for shipment, including scheduling fumigation and meeting food safety requirements.
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments, including harvest products, supplies, and by-products, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Track shipments and provide regular status updates, resolving issues to avoid delays or errors.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and other departments to support contracts, sample shipments, and overall logistics execution.
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams, customers, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in international shipping; agriculture experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and logistics systems (ERP, shipping software).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and solve shipping issues quickly.
- Basic math skills for freight calculations and documentation.
- Team-oriented and able to work well with others.
