Job SummaryThe International Freight Forwarding Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing global shipments across air and ocean freight channels. This role requires expertise in international logistics, customs compliance, and trade regulations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. The associate serves as a key liaison between customers, carriers, customs brokers, and overseas agents.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate international shipments (import and export) via air and ocean freightManage end-to-end shipment lifecycle, including booking, documentation, tracking, and deliveryPrepare and review international shipping documents such as:Commercial invoicesPacking listsBills of lading / air waybillsCertificates of originEnsure compliance with international trade regulations, including customs laws, export controls, and import requirementsWork closely with customs brokers to facilitate clearance and resolve any customs issuesCommunicate with overseas agents, carriers, and clients to ensure smooth shipment executionProvide accurate freight quotes, including duties, taxes, and landed cost estimatesTrack shipments proactively and resolve delays, damages, or discrepanciesMaintain accurate records in freight management systems and ensure data integrityMonitor shipping costs, margins, and identify opportunities for optimizationStay current on Incoterms, tariffs, and global trade updatesQualificationsHigh school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field preferred2–5 years of international freight forwarding experience (air and/or ocean required)Strong understanding of import/export processes and global shipping documentationKnowledge of Incoterms (2020) and international trade compliance requirementsExperience working with customs brokers and international carriersFamiliarity with freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, or similar)Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of international logistics operationsHigh attention to detail, especially with compliance and documentationExcellent communication skills across global teams and time zonesProblem-solving mindset with ability to manage shipment exceptionsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple shipments simultaneouslyCustomer-focused with a sense of urgency and accountabilityWorking ConditionsOffice-based role with frequent coordination across international time zonesOccasional extended hours to support global shipping schedulesCould also offer remote optionPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)Licensed Customs Broker or working knowledge of brokerage processesExperience with hazardous materials (IATA/IMDG certification)Multilingual capabilitiesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based incentivesHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunities in global logisticsRemote position availablePay: $49,402.16 – $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:international logistics: 3 years (Required)Work Location: In person
