Job Title: US #FMC Qualifying Individual (QI)
Location: Remote
Experience: Minimum 3 Years
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced US #Federal #Maritime #Commission / #FMC Qualifying Individual (QI) with at least three years of experience working for an #FMC-licensed NVOCC, ocean forwarder, or ocean carrier in the USA. The QI will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with #FMC regulations, handling bookings, rate quotations, and shipping documentation.
#FMC Compliance:
Ensure compliance with #FMC regulations and maintain active #FMC-OTI license.
Serve as the primary point of contact for #FMC-related inquiries and audits.
Booking Management:
Handle and manage ocean freight bookings efficiently.
Coordinate with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Rate Quotations:
Provide accurate and competitive rate quotations to clients.
Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers.
Documentation:
Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and other necessary paperwork.
Ensure all documents comply with #FMC regulations and client requirements.
Client Interaction:
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their shipping needs and provide solutions.
Maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and support.
References:
Provide three professional references who can confirm the #QI’s OTI experience.
Ensure references are available to respond to FMC calls and emails to verify experience.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of three years working for an #FMC-licensed #NVOCC, ocean forwarder, or #ocean carrier in the USA.
Extensive experience as an ocean shipping clerk handling bookings, rate quotations, and shipping documentation.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of #FMC regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
References:
Ability to provide three professional references who can confirm OTI experience.
References must be responsive to FMC inquiries.
Additional Requirements:
No prior management experience required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
