Position
Purpose:
The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts professionally, ensuring customer needs are met continuously for waste pickup and supply delivery. This role provides the highest level of customer service and may involve transporting waste between Stericycle locations or customer sites.
All company vehicles are equipped with telematics cameras, ELDs, and GPS systems.
Key Job
Activities:
Manage assigned routes to ensure safe, timely, and accurate waste pickup.
Transport waste safely following all regulations.
Plan daily schedules based on customer needs and route software.
Prepare and load trucks, ensuring supplies are sufficient; unload and secure waste at various sites.
Ensure waste is packaged and prepared according to regulations before pickup.
Provide excellent customer service, communicating issues promptly.
Secure waste, supplies, and equipment before operating the vehicle.
Complete and submit all paperwork accurately and timely.
Communicate route changes and issues to supervisors or dispatchers.
Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip maintenance; report issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Preferred:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Required:
0-1 year of experience; basic knowledge preferred.
Preferred: 6+ months of customer service and route management experience.
Must be 21 or older. Vehicles driven include shred trucks and box trucks.
Certifications and Licenses:
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Medical Examiner’s Certification.
