POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for bookkeeping, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, invoicing, and financial reporting. This role ensures that financial records are accurate, payments are processed on time, and financial insights are provided to support strategic decisions. The ideal candidate is proficient in QuickBooks and has a strong understanding of financial management.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are a fast-growing company specializing in street sweeping, road work cleanup, construction site cleanups, water truck services, and portable toilets. As we expand, we need an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to ensure our financial health and support our continued growth.
OBJECTIVES
Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely invoicing.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and outstanding invoices.
Process payroll accurately and on schedule while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Prepare and generate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Track budgets, forecast financial performance, and support cost management efforts.
Ensure proper documentation of financial records to facilitate audits and compliance.
Analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to management.
Identify and implement automation to improve efficiency in accounting processes.
Recommend and develop cost-saving strategies to optimize financial operations.
COMPETENCIES
Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate financial records and reconciliations.
Proficiency in managing AP, AR, and vendor payments with efficiency and accuracy.
Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
Ability to generate financial reports and statements to support decision-making.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
Familiarity with financial software and automation tools to enhance efficiency.
Problem-solving ability to identify process improvements and streamline workflows.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with vendors, employees, and management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field.
Experience in the construction or service industry is a PLUS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk during working hours
