About Us
MO Freight Company Limited is a growing customs clearing, freight forwarding, and logistics company committed to delivering reliable and efficient supply chain solutions. We are looking for a competent and experienced Customs Declaration Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and process customs declarations through the Tanzania National Electronic Single Window (TANESW) system
· Ensure accurate tariff classification, customs valuation, and application of relevant customs procedures.
· Prepare and submit import, export, transit, and warehousing entries.
· Liaise with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), Government Chemist Laboratory Authority (GCLA), Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC), and other regulatory authorities to apply for import and export permit facilitate cargo clearance.
· Verify shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and permits,COC,COA.
· Monitor the progress of declarations and resolve customs queries promptly such as value upliftings..
· Ensure compliance with the East African Community Customs Management Act (EACCMA) and all applicable customs regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of declarations and clearance documents.
· Provide timely updates to clients on shipment status.
Qualifications and Experience
· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration, Clearing and Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Customs Declaration Officer.
· Proficiency in TANESW and customs declaration procedures.
· Sound knowledge of customs laws, tariffs, import/export regulations, and clearance procedures.
· Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
· High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
