About the Company
We are representing a well-established international freight forwarding and logistics provider with a strong presence across the U.S. market.
The business is looking to strengthen its Los Angeles customs brokerage operation with an experienced Customs Entry Writer who can independently manage import entries while delivering a high level of accuracy and customer service.
About the Role
This is a 100% onsite position based in Los Angeles, CA, focused on supporting day-to-day customs brokerage and import clearance operations.
You will be responsible for preparing and processing customs entries, reviewing import documentation, coordinating with customers and internal teams, and ensuring shipments are cleared accurately and in accordance with U.S. Customs regulations.
The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of hands-on customs entry writing experience within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customs entries for international import shipments
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and supporting documentation
- Apply HTS classifications and ensure accurate entry information
- Coordinate with customers to obtain missing or additional documentation
- Monitor customs clearance and proactively resolve entry-related issues
- Ensure compliance with CBP and applicable Partner Government Agency requirements
- Communicate with internal operations teams regarding shipment status and cargo release
- Maintain accurate customs records and documentation within internal systems
Candidate Requirements
- 3–5 years of customs entry writing experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and import procedures
- Experience preparing and processing customs entries independently
- Working knowledge of HTS classification and customs documentation
- Familiarity with CBP and Partner Government Agency requirements
- Previous freight forwarding or customs brokerage experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple entries simultaneously
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable working 100% onsite in Los Angeles
