Role Description
Experienced Chartering Broker will work full time on-site in Hong Kong SAR, managing daily chartering activities for a portfolio of vessels and clients.
Responsibilities include identifying and developing new business opportunities, matching cargoes with suitable tonnage, negotiating charter party terms, and closing fixtures.
The role involves monitoring freight markets, analyzing market trends, preparing market reports, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of routes, rates, and vessel positions.
The Chartering Broker will handle ongoing communication with clients and counterparts, coordinate with operations and documentation teams, and maintain accurate records of fixtures and negotiations. This position requires proactive client management, attendance at industry meetings and events when needed, and consistent follow-up to strengthen long-term commercial relationships.

Qualifications
Strong understanding of commercial shipping, chartering practices, and freight market dynamics, ideally with experience in dry bulk or tanker segments.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and counterparts.
Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and reporting to support informed commercial decisions.
Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously.
Comfort working with relevant IT tools and shipbroking platforms, as well as standard office software.
Fluency in written and spoken English; additional Asian languages are an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred; prior shipbroking or shipping experience is highly beneficial.
