A respected logistics solutions provider is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across Sea Freight, Air Freight, Imports & Exports, and Road Freight Solutions.
This role is ideal for a true hunter someone who thrives on opening doors, developing strategic partnerships, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
POSITION INFO:
The Opportunity As the face of the business, you will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, securing new clients, and expanding existing customer relationships across a broad logistics portfolio. You'll work closely with operational teams to provide tailored freight solutions while positioning yourself as a trusted advisor within the logistics industry. Key Responsibilities Drive new business acquisition across Sea Freight, Air Freight, Road Freight, Courier, and 3PL services. Build and maintain long-term relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics decision-makers. Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell integrated logistics solutions. Develop strategic sales plans to grow market share and increase revenue. Conduct customer needs analyses and provide customised freight forwarding solutions. Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, and service agreements. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service-level agreements. Monitor Sea and Air shipments while providing proactive communication and service updates to clients. Analyse market trends, customer activity, and competitor movements to identify growth opportunities. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure exceptional client experiences. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Minimum Requirements Matric (Essential) 3-4 years' proven Business Development experience within: Freight Forwarding Sea Freight Air Freight Imports & Exports Road Freight or Courier Services Proven track record of achieving new business sales targets. Established network within the freight forwarding and logistics industry. Strong understanding of international shipping, freight forwarding, and supply chain solutions. Technical Skills Microsoft Office Suite Parcel Perfect (Advantageous) Power BI (Advantageous) Exposure to AI-driven sales or reporting tools will be advantageous.
