Base Oil Trader
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Base Oil Trader to develop and expand our base oil trading business across regional and international markets. The ideal candidate should have strong market knowledge, an established supplier and buyer network, and proven experience in sourcing, trading, and marketing base oil and related petroleum products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage base oil trading activities in regional and international markets.
- Source and market base oil products including Group I, Group II, Group III, and related lubricant raw materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with refineries, producers, traders, blenders, distributors, importers, and end-users.
- Identify profitable trading opportunities, negotiate purchase and sales contracts, and maximize trading margins.
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements, supply-demand fundamentals, freight, vessel movements, and import/export activity.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, logistics providers, inspection companies, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth trade execution.
- Evaluate commercial, operational, credit, and counterparty risks for each transaction.
- Support payment collection, documentation, product quality follow-up, and overall contract performance.
- Provide regular market updates, pricing insights, and business opportunity reports to management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in base oil trading, lubricants raw material trading, or petroleum products trading.
- Strong existing network of base oil suppliers, traders, blenders, distributors, and buyers.
- Proven track record of generating profitable trading business.
- Strong understanding of base oil grades, pricing mechanisms, international trade terms, shipping, logistics, documentation, and payment structures.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
Experience dealing in Base Oils — Group I, Group II, Group III, Bright Stock
Additional Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in commodity markets.
- 3+ years of experience in international trade and business development.
