Our Client is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional VP – Merchandising to lead and drive merchandising operations across multiple locations. This leadership role is responsible for optimizing inventory performance, enhancing profitability, and executing category and assortment strategies that align with business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage regional merchandising teams across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance standards.
- Drive execution of inventory and replenishment strategies to achieve KPIs related to service levels, Days Sales of Inventory (DSO), aging and obsolete inventory, and spoilage reduction.
- Partner with regional and market leadership to deliver business performance targets and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee product cost management, margin optimization, and profitability initiatives.
- Lead the implementation of category management and assortment strategies, including national and local product portfolios.
- Develop and coach merchandising teams, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitive positioning to drive sales growth.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to identify opportunities for revenue and margin enhancement.
- Ensure accuracy in product and freight cost management while controlling shrink and inventory losses.
- Provide insights and feedback to senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of leadership experience in merchandising, category management, or operations within retail, wholesale, or distribution environments
- Strong experience in inventory management, supply chain, and merchandising strategy
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred
