Southwest International Customs Services is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our team in Del Rio, Texas. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience preparing and processing U.S. Customs entries.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and takes pride in providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and transmit import entries through ACE.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CBP, FDA, USDA, EPA, DOT, and other Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements, as applicable.
- Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
- Resolve documentation discrepancies and shipment issues.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely Customs clearance.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with company procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of Customs Entry Writing experience with a U.S. Customs Broker.
- Working knowledge of ACE entry processing.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple shipments.
Preferred
- Experience with ABI software (Netchb experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and other PGA requirements.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
