Air Import Gateway Coordinator | Itasca, IL | Salary up to $55,000
The Air Import Gateway Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating consolidated air import shipments from arrival through final distribution. Working closely with airlines, overseas offices, customs brokers, trucking companies, and internal teams, you’ll ensure shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily air import gateway consolidations and deconsolidation’s.
- Monitor shipment arrivals and ensure timely freight recovery.
- Prepare and process import documentation and shipment files.
- Coordinate with airlines, warehouses, trucking companies, and customs brokers.
- Arrange final delivery and distribution of freight.
- Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers and internal teams.
- Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and service issues.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipment records within the company’s operating system.
- Support continuous improvement of gateway operations and service performance.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of air import freight forwarding experience.
- Experience handling gateway or consolidated air import shipments preferred.
- Understanding of air freight documentation and import procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CargoWise experience is an advantage.
