Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Warehouse/Transportation Operations Manager to lead our distribution and logistics operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating warehouse and transportation activities. This role ensures efficient receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and delivery operations while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
· Manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
· Ensure optimal warehouse layout and space utilization.
· Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
· Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
· Maintain compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Transportation & Logistics
· Oversee transportation scheduling, routing, and carrier management.
· Ensure on-time delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
· Analyze freight costs and negotiate rates with transportation providers.
· Monitor transportation KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
· Manage fleet operations, maintenance schedules, and DOT compliance (if applicable).
Team Leadership
· Supervise warehouse supervisors, transportation coordinators, drivers, and warehouse associates.
· Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team performance.
· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.
· Develop staffing plans to meet operational demands.
Performance Management
· Inventory accuracy
· Order fulfillment rates
· On-time delivery performance
· Labor productivity
· Transportation costs
· Safety metrics
Financial & Compliance Management
· Develop and manage operating budgets.
· Control labor, transportation, and warehouse expenses.
· Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FDA, GMP, or other applicable regulations.
· Support internal and external audits.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: 5+ years of warehouse, transportation, logistics, or distribution management experience. Experience leading teams in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment. Experience with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.

Preferred Certifications
· APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
· Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
· Lean Six Sigma Certification
· OSHA Safety Training
Physical Requirements
· Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
· Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand, walk, and travel throughout warehouse facilities as needed.

Direct Reports: Warehouse Supervisors, Transportation Coordinators, Drivers, Inventory Control Specialists, and Warehouse Associates
