Warehouse Manager
This is a full-time onsite role based in Chicago, IL. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inbound international container flow, domestic logistics coordination, inventory control, and facility management for Butler Specialty Company. This role manages warehouse staff, coordinates with third-party logistics providers, freight partners, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound product movement, and maintains accurate inventory visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations and lead 8 union employees
- Manage inbound container receipt in our Chicago warehouses (5–6 containers weekly)
- Coordinate unloading, storage, and inventory movement
- Maintain accurate product flow visibility across warehouse and 3PL locations
- Communicate with freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers
- Work with overseas factories regarding shipment schedules
- Monitor shipping performance across LTL and parcel carriers
- Maintain ERP inventory accuracy
- Analyze warehouse data using Excel
- Improve warehouse efficiency and operational processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Warehouse management experience in import / distribution environment
- ERP system experience
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
- Strong logistics and inventory mindset
- Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment
- Spanish language ability is helpful
