Job Description
We at Durato USA are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse facility. This position is responsible for managing warehouse personnel, inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving activities, order preparation, material handling, and overall warehouse organization and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is also willing to work alongside the team when needed. This role requires someone who can maintain an organized and productive warehouse, hold employees accountable, prioritize daily workloads, and coordinate effectively with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Purchasing, and Management. A strong focus on inventory accuracy, safety, productivity, and attention to detail is essential.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Leadership
- Oversee and coordinate all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, order preparation, picking, staging, loading, and shipping
- Supervise, train, schedule, and provide day-to-day direction to warehouse employees
- Assign daily workloads and ensure priorities and deadlines are clearly communicated and completed
- Monitor employee productivity, attendance, accuracy, and adherence to company procedures
- Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
- Lead by example and assist with hands-on warehouse duties when necessary
- Identify workflow issues and implement practical solutions to improve warehouse efficiency
- Ensure company policies and safety procedures are consistently followed
Inventory Management
- Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy throughout the warehouse
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing materials are properly received, verified, labeled, located, and documented
- Monitor product locations and ensure materials are stored in their designated warehouse locations
- Assist with and oversee cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory reconciliation
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and work with appropriate departments to identify and correct issues
- Monitor damaged, returned, or questionable materials and ensure they are properly identified and separated
- Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems
- Work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting regarding inventory-related questions or discrepancies
Shipping & Receiving
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments and ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time
- Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing lists, and other shipping documentation
- Ensure outgoing orders are properly picked, staged, packaged, and prepared for shipment or customer pickup
- Review shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy
- Coordinate with Logistics regarding freight pickups, deliveries, scheduling, and shipping concerns
- Assist with resolving shortages, damages, incorrect shipments, and other freight-related issues
- Ensure proper documentation of damaged freight or product upon receipt
Safety & Equipment
- Promote and enforce safe warehouse practices at all times
- Ensure forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment are operated safely and responsibly
- Monitor warehouse equipment and report maintenance or repair needs
- Ensure aisles, loading areas, racks, and workspaces remain clean and free of safety hazards
- Conduct or assist with warehouse safety training and ongoing employee coaching
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of warehouse experience, with previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and inventory control
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees and manage daily warehouse priorities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding inventory and order accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse employees, office staff, management, customers, and freight carriers
- Comfortable working with warehouse/inventory management systems and basic computer applications
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders, sales orders, packing lists, BOLs, and shipping documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities as needed
- Dependable, punctual, and able to take ownership of warehouse operations
Preferred Experience
- Previous Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or Lead experience
- Experience within the flooring, building materials, construction materials, or similar industry
- Experience managing palletized and/or heavy materials
- Strong inventory control and cycle-counting experience
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems
- Forklift experience and/or certification
- Familiarity with LTL/FTL freight and shipping procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb, and perform physical warehouse duties as necessary
- Ability to safely operate or work around forklifts and other material-handling equipment
- Comfortable working in an active warehouse environment throughout the workday
