OBJECTIVE
The Facilities and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of company facilities, shipping and receiving activities, warehouse/material handling operations, and inventory control. This position provides day-to-day leadership and direction to assigned personnel and coordinates activities with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and other departments to support organizational and customer requirements.
The Facilities and Logistics Supervisor ensures that building and facility systems are properly maintained, inbound and outbound materials are handled accurately and on time, inventory records remain accurate, and departmental processes are performed safely and efficiently. This position also identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement, cost control, and improved operational performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities and Building Maintenance
- Oversees the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of company buildings, grounds, utilities, and facility-related equipment.
- Develops, coordinates, and monitors preventive maintenance activities, identifies and prioritizes facility maintenance needs, and coordinates repairs using internal personnel or outside contractors to minimize equipment and facility downtime
- Coordinates and oversees facility service providers, contractors, and vendors, including obtaining quotations, scheduling work, monitoring performance, and verifying completion.
- Maintains appropriate records for facility inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, service agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates facility improvement, repair, installation, and other assigned capital or maintenance projects.
- Supports compliance with applicable safety, environmental, fire protection, building, and company requirements.
Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics
- Supervises and coordinates daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely movement of incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Ensures incoming shipments are verified against purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading, and other applicable documentation.
- Ensures outgoing shipments are properly prepared, packaged, labeled, documented, and scheduled according to customer and carrier requirements.
- Coordinates freight carriers, pickups, deliveries, dock activities, and shipment priorities.
- Investigates and resolves shipping and receiving discrepancies, damaged materials, incorrect quantities, and documentation issues.
- Works with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, and other departments to prioritize urgent shipments and receipts and resolve material-flow issues.
- Maintains organized, efficient, and safe shipping, receiving, staging, and storage areas.
- Identifies opportunities to improve material flow, reduce unnecessary handling, improve turnaround time, and control freight and logistics costs.
Inventory Control and Material Management
- Oversees inventory control processes to maintain accurate physical and system inventory records.
- Develops and maintains appropriate cycle-counting and physical-inventory processes.
- Investigates inventory discrepancies, identifies root causes, and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensures inventory receipts, transfers, adjustments, issues, and other material transactions are completed accurately and timely within the ERP system.
- Supports annual physical inventory activities as required.
Safety, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement
- Promotes and maintains a safe working environment throughout facilities, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-storage areas.
- Ensures employees are appropriately trained and authorized to operate forklifts, material-handling equipment, or other equipment required for their positions.
- Maintains standards for workplace organization and housekeeping using applicable 5S/6S or similar principles.
- Participates in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action activities as applicable.
- Identifies and leads continuous-improvement initiatives related to facilities, logistics, inventory accuracy, material flow, safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Provides daily, direction, scheduling, and work assignments for employees within assigned areas.
- Ensures sufficient staffing and departmental coverage are maintained to support operational requirements.
- Selects, trains, coaches, develops, and evaluates assigned employees.
- Establishes clear expectations and holds employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, accuracy, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
- Provides timely performance feedback and addresses performance or conduct concerns in accordance with company policies.
- Cross-trains employees to improve departmental flexibility and ensure appropriate backup coverage.
- Promotes teamwork and effective communication within the department and across functional areas.
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
- Utilizes the company’s ERP and other business systems to maintain accurate records and obtain information necessary to manage assigned functions.
- Maintains appropriate departmental records, procedures, work instructions, vendor information, maintenance documentation, and other required documentation.
- Communicates significant operational, facility, inventory, safety, or logistics issues to management in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, and inventory-control processes.
- Working knowledge of building and facility maintenance practices.
- Ability to coordinate contractors, service providers, freight carriers, and other external vendors.
- Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, material transactions, and inventory reconciliation
- Proficiency with ERP or inventory-management systems and standard business software.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to develop, monitor, and communicate operational performance metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality, continuous improvement, and cost control.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, warehouse, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory control, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience preferred.
- Relevant technical, business, supply-chain, facilities, or operations education preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Experience using ERP, inventory-management, or warehouse-management software required.
- Experience coordinating outside contractors, vendors, and service providers preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, carrying, and grasping
- Capable of performing repetitive tasks

The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual base pay range is between $33-41 / hour.
Pay: $33.00 – $41.00 per hour
