See details below. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Over the Road Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves transporting freight across long distances, ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will be located in the Chicago/Midwest region, have trucks, dump trucks, tankers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers. A strong commitment to safety and customer service is essential.
Responsibilities
Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including roll-off trucks, dump trucks, tankers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.
Safely transport freight over long distances while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and mileage as required by DOT regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
Ensure proper loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately for safe transport.
Drive manual transmission vehicles as needed.
Follow all safety protocols to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the road.
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proven experience in truck driving with trucks, dump trucks, tankers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.
3 months experience driving a tractor and trailer ≥ 40 inches in length.
21yrs and older
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and regulations.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with dispatchers and customers.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
