Job Function
To coordinate and control the quality of the work activities of a general worker and to pack and load furniture into any container or into or out of a vehicle or unload or unpack furniture, contributing to managerial decision-making.
Key Performance Areas
- Promptly report any aspect of any operation that could negatively impact on the safe working environment, natural environment and/or the public;
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy condition at all times;
- Check the cargo against the invoices and the route sheet when the dispatching team loads the vehicle for accuracy and quality of the goods;
- Ensure that the truck is loaded in such a manner that no damages occur during delivery;
- Ensure that the cold chain in the vehicle is maintained;
- Ensure that the correct stock is off loaded at each customer;
- Endeavour to keep returns at a minimal and none as a result of Team negligence;
- Strictly adhere to the payment terms recorded on route sheets and invoices;
- Check accuracy of cash and cheques collected from customers;
- Ensure that all the correct paperwork is completed and processes are followed regarding invoices, route sheets, Cashing In and Returning stock;
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement;
Qualifications Required:
- Grade 10 minimum
- Grade 12 preferable
Experience and Skills Required
- Must be able to communicate and write in English
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must be able to lift heavy objects. Therefore, physical fitness is required
- A meticulous and thorough nature with a keen Attention to detail
- An ability to work to tight deadlines
- Able to work under pressure
- Available to work overtime
- Ability to interact successfully with clients
- Good people skills
- Team player and willing to assist colleagues when required
- Maturity to handle a range of situations
- Able to work in fast pace environment
- Energetic and dynamic
- Willing and able to accept and handle all the responsibilities of this position
