We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dispatch/Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations, optimizing routes, overseeing driver performance, and ensuring excellent customer service.
Job Overview:
As the Trucking Dispatch/Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the load scheduling, driver dispatch, and daily operations of our fleet of trucks. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, capable of handling multiple tasks while ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of freight.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate dispatch operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Develop and maintain efficient routes, optimizing fuel costs, time, and driver schedules.
Supervise and support drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and legal requirements.
Monitor driver performance, resolve operational issues, and provide ongoing feedback and support.
Communicate directly with customers to schedule deliveries, resolve any issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Track and manage shipments, ensuring accurate record-keeping, including delivery schedules and truck maintenance logs.
Work closely with the fleet maintenance team to ensure trucks are kept in optimal condition.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
Assist in covering loads needed to be brokered.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a dispatch or fleet management role, preferably in the trucking or transportation industry.
Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and freight management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in dispatch software and route planning tools.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts quickly and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required).
Preferred:
Experience with fleet management software.
Knowledge of industry trends and challenges.
Experience managing a team in a high-paced environment.
Freight broker agent experience preferred.
