Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to deliver goods to our clients. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, as well as the ability to navigate diverse driving conditions. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Operate trucks equipped with manual transmission, flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers as required.
Safely transport freight to designated locations while following all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure that all cargo is secured properly before departure.
Adhere to company policies regarding safety, conduct, and customer service.
Skills
Proficient in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
Knowledge of handling various types of freight including flatbed, tanker, and refrigerated trailers.
Familiarity with forklift operation for loading and unloading cargo.
Strong navigation skills with the ability to use GPS systems effectively.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
Strong communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and clients.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
