Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Rochester, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay and Schedule

• Weekly pay of $1,171 or more.
• Daily trip pay: $561.09 per trip (2 trips per week, occasional additional trips).
• Per diem pay: $24.52 per night (2 nights per week).
• Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days.
• Paid training.
• Schedule:

  7‑day operation, start time 6:00 AM or 2:00 PM dispatch.

• Deliver to NY, PA, OH, MA, NH, and ME.
• Route:
  Local Regional.
• Tractor type:
  Day Cab.
• Trailer type:
  Dry Van 53′.
• Equipment:
  Electric and manual pallet jack.
• Truck: 36 months or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, company fuel at over 800 facilities.
• Freight:
  Touch‑Flouring material.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months within the past 3 years, or
  • 2 years within the last 5 years, or
  • 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading if required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
