Job Overview
Amazon’s Linehaul Team seeks a Transportation Specialist to resolve stakeholder issues of daily freight movements into and out of our North American fulfillment centers and associated transportation network. The role will help clear network disruptions, ensuring customers receive shipments on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Continual tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
- Pull data from multiple databases (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Publish performance metrics to drive business results
- Identify and eliminate root causes of defects to improve transportation operations
- Understand business impact of trends, make data‑driven decisions, and explain findings in narratives and review forums
- Systematically escalates problems or variance to relevant owners and follow through on resolutions
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and documenting activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Work 40 hours per week, including overtime as required
- Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Minimum 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in transportation operations with knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS), Department of Transportation (Use the “Apply for this Job” box below). and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
