Role Summary:
This position oversees a regional transportation operations team to ensure the achievement of cost, service, and customer satisfaction KPIs. The role combines operational execution, team supervision, and compliance with logistics standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Performance
Leads and supervises the team to ensure daily excellence and KPI achievement.
Monitors compliance with SOPs, business rules, and customs/shipping regulations.
Communicates key updates and insights to the team and leadership.
Manages staffing and conducts engagement checks.
Transport Planning & Bookings
Partners with Regional Planning to ensure timely deliveries aligned with sales/production goals.
Oversees booking compliance with modes/carriers, including rate and rule adherence.
Monitors airfreight usage and aims to minimize costs via proactive planning.
Shipment Tracking & Exception Handling
Allocates track & trace responsibilities; manages critical shipments proactively.
Leads resolution of transportation delays and escalations, keeping stakeholders informed.
Slot Coordination
Coordinates pick-up and delivery appointments with suppliers, facilities, and customers.
Operational Excellence & Customer Focus
Ensures adherence to SOPs with attention to detail and KPI targets.
Drives a “Customer First” mindset and proactive communication.
Continuous Improvement
Identifies and drives opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
College degree (preferably within Logistics/Supply Chain)
Previous supervisory experience
Substantial experience within inbound & outbound transportation and logistics in a fast moving, complex global organization
Understanding of Planning and Warehouse Processes and interdependencies with Transportation
Must possess the ability to multi-task, establish priorities and be flexible in an ever-changing environment
Excellent data analysis and critical thinking with the ability to proactively spot and resolve problems
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with strong project management skills
Collaborative and able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
