Transportation, Logistics, Dispatch, Safety Coordinator Jobs in Grand Forks, ND at Black Gold Farms
Horizon Logistics, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Black Gold Farms in Grand Forks, ND is looking for a Transportation/Logistics, Dispatch and Safety Coordinator. The person in this role is a critical part of our Transportation team, as this role helps ensure supply chain reliability.
Responsibilities:
Procuring transportation for the movement of our product.
Establishing long term, mutually beneficial relationships with carriers.
Communicating with carriers regarding load status.
Troubleshooting any issues that may arise on the movement of product.
Evaluating and recording past performance of carriers.
Communicating with the sales department regarding transportation availability.
Entering customer and vendor information into load database system.
Disseminating receiver issues to the sales and transportation team.
Negotiating freight rates with carriers.
Ensuring compliance with all registration, insurance, and permits of carriers.
Developing, executing, and maintaining effective driver safety training programs in compliance with OSHA, FMCSR and company safety policies, including proper usage of the ELD system.
Reporting and documenting non-compliant drivers or incidents to the Director of Transportation for corrective action/discipline. Ensure timely communication is had with the driver(s) addressing the issue(s).
Investigating and tracking all incidents to meet both company and FMCSA/DOT requirements.
Recruiting and hiring experienced drivers for Horizon Logistics company trucks.
Conducting orientation/onboarding for new drivers.
Participating in the rotating on-call phone duty.
Qualifications:
Work is required to be onsite, in the office
High school diploma, additional education preferred
Database / data entry experience
Microsoft Office experience
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Working successfully in a team environment
Availability to work some weekends
Desired:
Transportation industry experience
Supply chain experience
Negotiating experience
Transportation related safety experience
