Currie & Brown is looking for a Director to join our dynamic team in the Transportation and Infrastructure Sector. This person will lead our business development and operations associated with transportation (rail, road, and aviation) on the East Coast. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for collaborating with diverse teams to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
Winning work in the rail, aviation and/or road
Promoting and selling the services of Currie & Brown, including project management, cost control, scheduling and other related procurement services
Providing project or cost management-related services to clients as required
Managing and developing existing client relationships
Recommending new clients and pursuits
Working with Currie & Brown’s sister companies to build a compelling solutions-based proposition for east coast transportation clients
Submitting regular reports as directed by the management board
Providing leadership regarding overall direction to the clients’ project management team on specific projects
Assuming responsibility for quality and productivity of delivered services
Promoting and organizing training to develop staff to meet growth plan
Undertaking responsibility for employee coaching and development for succession planning
Assisting with staff recruitment to deliver commissions and grow the business in line with the regional plan
Ensuring the wellbeing of the staff resource
Delivering the annual budget
Ensuring timely billing of clients and assisting in collecting invoiced amounts
Managing client relationships within the region
Ensuring the financial planning, control and reporting
Submitting regular reports as directed by the management board of Currie & Brown Inc
Requirements:
Ideally a bachelor’s degree in construction and/or architecture-related fields
A minimum of 15 years’ construction or project management-related experience, including 10 years in a managerial role
Located on the East coast
Deep knowledge of the Transportation sector and a list of contacts to build out a list of leads from day one
Strong management, organizational and communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a dedication to developing lasting client partnerships (internally and externally) and to maximizing employee engagement
Self-driven, collaborative in nature and articulate
Knowledge and experience of executing projects and programs within the planning, engineering, procurement and construction delivery phases
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Agile and responsive to changing demands
Proven track record of growth and business management
Flexibility to work locally and remotely
Understanding of current information technology applications and systems
