Position Description: Job Summary
VMW Express is hiring an experienced Transportation Dispatcher / Forklift Operator for our Sterling, Virginia location. This full-time, on-site position is approximately 70% dispatch and 30% warehouse/forklift duties.
The right candidate will have at least two years of transportation dispatch experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience safely operating a forklift.

What You’ll Do
Dispatch and Operations:
- Dispatch drivers to routes, pickups, deliveries, and customer locations.
- Monitor drivers, vehicles, and shipments using dispatch, GPS, and routing systems.
- Communicate route changes, delivery instructions, delays, and service updates.
- Respond promptly to driver issues, service disruptions, and time-sensitive shipments.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, customer service, and operations personnel.
- Maintain accurate driver, route, pickup, delivery, and shipment records.
- Document unresolved issues and provide clear shift handovers.
- Follow company safety procedures, customer requirements, and applicable DOT regulations.
Warehouse and Forklift:
- Operate a standard propane forklift to load, unload, stage, and move freight.
- Verify freight and shipment information for accuracy.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse work area.
- Assist with other warehouse duties based on daily operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least two years of transportation dispatch experience.
- Previous experience operating a standard propane forklift.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions when schedules or conditions change.
- Reliable attendance and dependable transportation to the Sterling facility.
- Ability to perform both office-based dispatch and physical warehouse responsibilities.
- Ability to complete required pre-employment and compliance screening.
Preferred Experience
- Final-mile delivery, expedited transportation, LTL, or warehouse operations.
- Dispatch, Telematics, routing, or TMS
- Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping.
Schedule and Location
- Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Day shift
- On-site in Sterling, Virginia.
Compensation
- $50,000 to $60,000 salaried
- Opportunities for bonuses and commission
- Compensation will be based on relevant dispatch, transportation, and forklift experience.
