Transport Coordinator
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (with some out‑of‑hours flexibility)
Our client is a growing logistics business based in Stowmarket and is currently seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual who is looking to progress within a fast-paced logistics environment.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day coordination of transport operations, including container movements, LCL transport, and general warehousing, while maintaining high service levels for customers and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure daily deliveries and collections are completed accurately and on schedule
Input and maintain transport bookings within the company’s operational software
Handle incoming telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally
Manage and coordinate subcontractor activity
Maintain accurate and up-to-date information across internal transport and operational systems
Manage designated customer accounts and maintain strong working relationships
Undertake ad-hoc duties as required to support operational needs
Key Skills & Experience
Strong UK geographical knowledge
Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a transport, distribution, or logistics environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Confident problem-solver with the ability to make quick, effective decisions
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Self-motivated, driven, and keen to succeed within a growing business
