Position Overview:
Reports to Solutions manager with dotted line to Operation Manager and reports on all activities for transportation, analyzing Request For Pricing (RFP) and invoice data on a regular basis. Works with the Operations team to assist in day-to-day reporting and management of shared email box.
Performance requirements
Use tools to communicate shipment status, inventory in-transit, and measure carrier/supplier performance
Working with Transportation Operations, create and update weekly and monthly capacity models to ensure smooth receipts into our warehouse and stores
Working with Transportation Operations to monitor and manage shared email, addressing concerns around carriers, bookings, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN’s), & packaging inquiries; as well as Store/Store Ops Point Of Contact (POC): general inquiry, issue resolution, & carrier pickups.
Prepare Transportation metrics and reports for leadership on daily, weekly or monthly basis as directed.
Owns all transportation analysis as it pertains to carrier score-carding and overall performance, in regard to contractual Service Level Agreements, included managed transportation partners.
Establish and maintain relationships with all logistics carriers and partners
Work in conjunction with third party audit services to reconcile freight invoices on ad hoc business to ensure that freight charges are consistent with contracted rates
Assist in management of contracts and renewal activities such as RFP and contract negotiations.
Parcel Spend Management Analysis through modeling tool, looking for efficiencies in mode of transit, frequency, packaging, and cost.
Invoice review, approval & coding
Manage new/relocating store setup in manifesting application
Peak season carrier volume forecasting
Parcel rate quotes
Maintain carrier time in transit matrix
Procurement POC. Non-Merch vendor routing guide compliance
Requires on-call availability 1x per month; monitoring shared email box.
All other duties as assigned by manager.
Work Experience and education requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or a related discipline preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in transportation
Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and best practices
Demonstrated competency in MS Excel and Google applications
Ability to work cross-functionally and to manage multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
