Key Responsibilities

Transport Cost & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate transport master data including rates, routes, and carriers
  • Manage SAP transport rate approval workflows and ensure system integrity
  • Monitor transport cost per ton and per route
  • Validate transporter rates using fuel, CPI/PPI, and contractual mechanisms
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives and support transport budgeting and forecasting
  • Track and reduce standing time and accessorial costs

Customer Service & Delivery Performance

  • Ensure achievement of OTIF delivery targets
  • Coordinate daily delivery execution with transporters
  • Resolve delivery issues, delays, and service failures
  • Act as a key liaison between customer service, planning teams, and transporters
  • Continuously improve the customer delivery experience

Transporter Management & Compliance

  • Manage transporter onboarding, due diligence, and annual requalification
  • Ensure compliance with transport contracts, SLAs, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and maintain transport SOPs and RACI frameworks
  • Monitor transporter insurance, SHEQ, legal, and governance compliance
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly transporter performance reviews

KPI Reporting & Governance

  • Develop and maintain transport KPI dashboards (DIFOT, utilisation, POD, incidents)
  • Lead regular operational and performance review meetings with transporters
  • Provide insights, reporting, and recommendations to management
  • Support audit readiness and governance standards

Standing Time & Claims Management

  • Implement standing time tracking and reconciliation processes
  • Perform root cause analysis for delays and inefficiencies
  • Engage customers and transporters to reduce waiting times
  • Validate and approve transport-related claims

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations
  • Improve transport visibility, reporting, and system capability
  • Support digitalisation and transport system enhancements
  • Promote best practices in logistics execution

Safety, Sustainability & Risk

  • Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and transport safety requirements
  • Monitor transport-related risks and support regulatory compliance
