Transport Operations Supervisor Jobs in Pinetown, South Africa at Route Management
Location: Pinetown
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate container collections and deliveries between Durban Harbor, storage facilities, and nationwide destinations
Manage and optimize fleet scheduling, including local shunting and long-distance operations
Oversee Transnet harbor yard bookings through the Navis system
Monitor fleet performance, safety compliance, and cost efficiency
Coordinate with technical management for vehicle maintenance scheduling
Track and manage fuel consumption, route adherence, and driver activities
Provide real-time updates to customers and generate operational reports
Supervise container turn in procedures and booking slot management
Liaise with port terminals and manage depot relationships
Report to group logistics management in Bloemfontein
Requirements:
Grade 12 with a valid driver’s license
Minimum 5 years’ experience in container logistics, fleet control, or port operations
Certificate/Diploma in Transport Management or Logistics (advantageous)
Proven expertise with Navis booking system and port operations
Proficient in GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
Strong knowledge of national routes (JHB, CPT, DBN, BLM, PE)
Advanced computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in generating management reports and analysis
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work flexible & long hours
Availability for occasional travel to other operational centers across South Africa
Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with management
