For our Dubai-based team, we are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager (Chemical & Agri-Bulk Cargo) to oversee the maritime transport operations of chemical fertilizers.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The ideal candidate will coordinate the safe and efficient movement of critical cargo (both liquid and dry bulk), ensuring operational excellence, compliance with HSE regulations, and optimization of logistics costs.
Note: Profiles originating from the Oil & Gas sector will not be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic and Operational Planning
- Manage and plan voyage schedules for chemical tankers (Phosphoric Acid, Ammonia), gas carriers, and dry bulk vessels (Urea, Phosphates, Sulfur).
- Vessel assignment and constant coordination with chartering teams and brokers.
- Optimize freight rates and overall logistics costs.
Vessel Operational Cycle Management
- Pre-arrival: Appointment of port agents, documentation review, cargo compatibility verification, and issuance of voyage instructions.
- In-Port: Constant monitoring of loading/unloading operations, laytime management, and timely resolution of delays or operational issues.
- Post-operation: Verification of demurrage/despatch calculations, cost review, and preparation of performance reports.
Technical Cargo Management
- Ensure the correct handling of specific products such as Phosphoric Acid, Ammonia, Urea, MAP/DAP, and Caustic Soda.
- Ensure compliance with technical requirements: tank coatings, temperature and pressure control, contamination prevention, and moisture control for dry cargoes.
Compliance, Safety, and Documentation
- Ensure full compliance with international regulations: IMO, IMDG Code, ISGOTT procedures, and environmental standards.
- Manage critical documentation: Bills of Lading (B/L), NOR, Manifests, Certificates of Analysis, SDS/MSDS, and Letters of Credit.
- Proactive management of incidents, spills, and claims.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in maritime operations EXCLUSIVELY within the Dry Bulk or Chemical Fertilizer Tanker sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of handling hazardous chemical cargoes and fertilizers.
TECHINICAL SKILLS
- Expertise in the chemical fertilizer industry (Dry & Tanker).
- Mastery of Incoterms and Charter Parties.
- Ability to analyze costs (Bunker, port expenses, operational KPIs).
- Fluent English (written and spoken) and Fluent Spanish (written and spoken) are MANDATORY. Applications that do not meet these two requirements will not be considered.
SOFT SKILLS
- Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure and in emergency contexts.
- Strong negotiation and multi-stakeholder coordination skills.
- Extreme precision in document management.
PAY RANGE AND COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- Annual Salary: 220,200 AED.
