Agay Barho is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented UK Freight & Transport Coordinator to oversee the daily logistics operations within the heavy goods vehicle (HGV) sector from a remote location. This full-time, permanent role requires a professional who possesses deep knowledge of UK logistics, compliance standards, and freight platforms. The coordinator will be instrumental in sourcing and booking loads, planning routes, and managing communication between clients and drivers to ensure efficient and timely transport services across the United Kingdom and Europe. The role demands strong organizational skills, effective communication capabilities, and proficiency with transport management systems to maintain operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience and demonstrate a proactive approach to managing transport activities independently. Responsibilities
include updating Transport Management Systems, coordinating with drivers, managing compliance with UK transport regulations, and maintaining accurate documentation such as Proof of Delivery and consignment notes. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to foster professional relationships with clients over phone and email are critical. This position operates Monday through Saturday during UK business hours, requiring reliability and consistent performance in a remote work setting with stable high-speed internet connectivity.
Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and book daily haulage loads using Haulage Exchange and other UK freight platforms to maximize fleet utilization.
- Operate and maintain the Transport Management System (TMS) by entering job details, tracking vehicle movements, and updating driver statuses in real-time.
- Plan and implement efficient and cost-effective routes considering delivery timelines, fuel consumption, and traffic patterns to optimize logistics performance.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with UK-based clients, providing timely updates on load statuses and addressing any transport-related inquiries or concerns.
- Coordinate directly with drivers to issue precise job instructions, including collection and delivery specifications, ensuring adherence to scheduled operations.
- Collect, verify, and manage all relevant transport documentation such as Proof of Delivery (POD) forms and consignment notes to guarantee compliance and record accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with UK transport regulations, promptly identifying and reporting any issues or deviations to maintain legal and safety standards.
- Prepare and submit routine reports detailing load activities, revenue figures, and driver performance to support operational transparency and decision-making.
- Employ strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with freight providers and clients, enhancing cost efficiency and service quality.
- Work independently within a remote setup while maintaining high productivity and effective time management during UK operating hours.
